Short Bio
Siti Zuraidah Abidin is a conservation governance specialist with over 17 years of experience in forest and protected area conservation in Malaysia. She leads the Peninsular Malaysia Terrestrial Conservation Programme at WWF-Malaysia, providing strategic oversight for priority forest and freshwater landscapes. Her work focuses on protected area management effectiveness, governance, and the application of standards-based approaches to strengthen conservation outcomes. She played a key role in developing Malaysia’s national Protected Areas Master List and has led Management Effectiveness Tracking Tool (METT) assessments for protected areas across the country. She has contributed to national biodiversity processes and co-authored guidance and peer-reviewed publications on METT, management effectiveness, and the IUCN Green List.
