Dr. Mary Tahu Paia is a Senior Lecturer in Climate Change and Biodiversity at the Solomon Islands National University (SINU). With over a decade of experience, her work focuses on climate change adaptation and coastal community resilience. Her PhD research explored how mangroves support adaptation by integrating scientific data with Indigenous perspectives. A strong advocate for community-led conservation, she frequently collaborates with women’s groups to spearhead environmental actions. Dr. Paia also served as team lead in developing the Solomon Islands’ ICZM mangrove policy, a collaboration between the Ministry of Environment and the Korean Environment Institute (KEI).
